Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Great Bend, Kansas

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Location: Great Bend, Kansas

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Two weekends per month
• Holiday Requirement: As needed according to rotation
• On-Call Requirement: One shift per month

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Kansas RN license or compact RN license
• At least 1 year of recent hospital-based medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-care skills
• Experience with continuous medication infusions, including heparin, insulin, amiodarone, and Cardizem, is preferred
• Ability to float within the RN's scope of practice as needed

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients throughout the care continuum
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized nursing plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
• Safely administer medications, including titratable and continuous infusions as appropriate
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate significant findings to the interdisciplinary care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to support positive patient outcomes
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, medication administration, and patient progress
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and scheduled on-call coverage
• Float to other patient-care areas within the RN's training and scope of practice when needed
