Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Michigan
• At least 1 year of professional bedside nursing experience; 2 years of bedside clinical experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary care team
• Commitment to patient safety, compassionate care, and respectful teamwork

LTAC Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments for assigned patients and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and promptly communicate pertinent information to physicians, charge nurses, and other care team members
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care updates accurately and on time
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences, rehabilitation programming, and care coordination activities
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family education based on identified healthcare needs
• Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing and ancillary staff
• Promote safe patient handling, infection prevention, environmental safety, and compliance with clinical policies
• Prioritize assignments and resources effectively to support quality outcomes and continuity of care
• Contribute to a calm, encouraging, and collaborative unit environment
