Travel Nursing Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,320–$2,450

• Schedule: 4 shifts per week
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 6:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Contract Dates: October 12, 2026 – January 11, 2027
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Call Requirement: Two call days per week and every third weekend
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Clinical Volume: Approximately six visits per day across three operating rooms
• Float Requirement: May float to the main operating room on the same campus as needed
• Charting and Communication Systems: Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
• Orientation: 24 hours, based on experience

CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina; compact license accepted
• At least 2 years of recent cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience
• Cardiovascular operating room scrub experience
• Experience with ECMO and Impella procedures
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including CABG, valve repair or replacement, aortic procedures, carotid endarterectomy, TAVR, thoracic surgery, and laser lead extraction
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment in a high-acuity surgical environment
• First-time travel nurses are welcome with the required CVOR specialty experience
• Willingness to participate in emergency, storm, and disaster response assignments when activated

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
• Scrub and support surgical teams during procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, TVR, aortic dissection repair, TAVR, carotid procedures, aortic root surgery, and pericardial windows
• Support cases involving ECMO, Impella, and other advanced cardiovascular technologies
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications according to procedure-specific requirements
• Promote patient safety through surgical time-outs, infection prevention, accurate counts, and adherence to established protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate clinical information using SBAR
• Float to the main operating room when CVOR volume is low and support department needs
• Participate in scheduled call coverage and every-third-weekend assignments
