Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Assignment Type: Travel contract
• Assignment Length: Approximately 16 weeks
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Location: Geneva, New York
• Shift: Day shifts, generally 6:30 a.m./7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m./4:30 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 10-hour days
• Schedule: Weekday schedule with approximately four shifts per week; call coverage is required
• Call Requirement: One weekday call shift per week plus approximately three call weekends during the initial contract period
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care operating room

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Valid New York Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of operating room nursing experience
• Recent operating room circulator experience is required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association/RQI
• NIHSS or stroke competency required
• Ability to provide call coverage and work independently when assigned
• Ability to float to other designated units as needed
• Experience in a community hospital or similarly broad surgical environment is strongly preferred
• GI and ophthalmology experience are helpful but not required

Travel OR Nurse Responsibilities

• Serve as the operating room circulator for scheduled and emergent procedures.
• Support a broad range of surgical service lines, including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, GI, spine, ophthalmology, and podiatry.
• Prepare the operating room, verify equipment and supplies, and promote safe, efficient surgical workflows.
• Complete preoperative assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient progress throughout the perioperative episode.
• Provide compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients while promoting comfort and emotional support.
• Administer medications and interventions safely and effectively within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, perioperative staff, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Advocate for patient safety, patient rights, privacy, infection prevention, and evidence-based practice.
• Educate patients and families regarding care, recovery, and self-management needs.
• Participate in call coverage and respond to urgent operating room needs as assigned.
• Document assessments, interventions, education, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
