Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,960–$2,070
• Location: Geneva, New York
• Healthcare Setting: Acute medical-surgical inpatient unit
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Pattern: Variable day, night, weekend, and holiday scheduling; every other weekend; two on-call shifts per four-week period

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association or RQI
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, holidays, and scheduled on-call shifts
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess patients and families, identify care needs, and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients with a range of medical conditions in an acute care setting.
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions in accordance with established standards and scope of practice.
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and adjust care plans as appropriate.
• Promote patient safety, comfort, dignity, rights, and emotional well-being throughout the care experience.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, self-care, lifestyle changes, medications, and discharge needs.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, therapists, support staff, patients, and families to promote positive outcomes.
• Delegate appropriately, support team collaboration, and follow infection prevention and bloodborne pathogen safety practices.
• Document assessments, interventions, education, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and pursue ongoing professional development.
