Experienced Travel RN needed for a 13-week Renal Medical-Surgical nursing contract in Zanesville, Ohio. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing – Renal
- Healthcare Setting: Adult Renal/Medical-Surgical unit
- Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Location: Zanesville, Ohio
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: January 18, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: No on-call requirement
- Work Arrangement: On-site
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license required at submission
- At least 3 years of recent Medical-Surgical and telemetry nursing experience
- Renal nursing experience strongly preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
- Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR); Epic experience must be clearly documented
- Strong adaptability, efficiency, clinical judgment, and critical-thinking skills
- Successful completion of a required competency assessment on the first day
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients
- Care for patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and other complex medical conditions
- Perform frequent nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, escalating clinical concerns appropriately
- Coordinate care with nephrologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Prioritize nursing care effectively in a high-volume environment with frequent patient turnover
- Float within scope to similar units, including wound care, stroke, oncology, cardiac, observation, and emergency department boarder populations
- Promote safe, efficient, and patient-centered outcomes throughout the travel nursing assignment
