Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Gainesville, Florida

• Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically three night shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or three weekend shifts per month
• Unit: 24-bed CVICU with ECMO capability
• Documentation System: Meditech

CVICU Travel Nurse Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent CVICU or high-acuity critical care nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Florida
• Strong critical care nursing competencies, including management of vasoactive infusions, arterial lines, invasive central lines, and mechanical ventilation
• Ability to care for complex cardiac, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and critically ill patients
• Willingness to float to other critical care areas as needed
• Cardiothoracic surgery or cardiology experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and meet the required weekend rotation

CVICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for high-acuity cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, vascular surgery, and critical care patients
• Monitor and manage patients receiving vasoactive medications, ventilator support, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Care for patients supported by ECMO and assist with the management of cardiogenic shock and Impella-assisted high-risk PCI procedures
• Support patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular surgical care, including those requiring chest tubes, central lines, bronchoscopy, or percutaneous tracheostomy
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary critical care team to assess patient status, implement treatment plans, and respond to changes in condition
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech
• Promote safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced CVICU environment
