Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Richlands, Virginia

Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Richlands, Virginia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750–$1,840
• Start Date: October 6, 2026
• End Date: January 5, 2027
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Call: None required
• Healthcare Setting: On-site acute care hospital

Med/Surg Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to a diverse patient population in an acute care environment
• Willingness to participate in an every-other-weekend rotation

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients across a broad patient population
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards and provider orders
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and a positive patient care experience
