Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730-$1,820
• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• End Date: January 11, 2027
• Unit: Emergency Room (ER) Holding / Rapid Administrative Unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: 36- or 48-hour option, typically 3-4 shifts per week
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to similar units within the nurse’s scope of practice
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract

Emergency Room Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or a compact state; a pending New Mexico or compact license may be considered if obtained before the start date
• At least 2 years of registered nursing experience, preferably in emergency nursing, emergency department, ER holding, observation, or medical-surgical/telemetry settings
• Current ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced emergency and acute care environment
• Experience with telemetry, IV initiation and maintenance, PICC line management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, medication administration, and wound care
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and float to comparable units as needed
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, organization, prioritization, and teamwork skills

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in the ER holding and rapid administrative unit
• Complete focused nursing assessments, monitor patient conditions, and promptly identify changes in clinical status
• Care for patients requiring telemetry, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy management, substance-withdrawal support, and complex medical-surgical interventions
• Initiate and maintain peripheral IVs, manage PICC lines, administer medications, and support blood product administration as appropriate
• Manage chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tubes, wound care, and other patient-specific treatments within scope of practice
• Use rapid response and code team resources appropriately during emergent situations
• Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, interpretation services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote continuity of care during admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Float to comparable units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and professional nursing practice
