Travel ICU RN Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand for the applicable state or a compact license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of ICU or comparable critical care nursing experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
• Previous Epic charting experience required
• Ability to care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced intensive care unit
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Travel ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients in a MICU, SICU, or CCU environment
• Manage ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, suctioning, and airway-related care
• Monitor and titrate cardiac and vasoactive medication drips according to established protocols
• Perform arterial line, central line, PICC line, and pulmonary artery catheter monitoring and management
• Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer blood products, IV medications, continuous sedation, and IV insulin therapies safely
• Care for patients with acute or chronic renal failure, multisystem organ dysfunction, CVA, acute stroke, and complex surgical conditions
• Assist with chest tube procedures, cardiac catheterization care, procedural sedation, and other critical care interventions
• Document accurately in Epic while collaborating with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, and rapid response teams
• Maintain infection prevention, isolation, and patient safety standards throughout each shift
