Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460–$1,540
• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical
• Location: Westwood, New Jersey
• Patient Population: Adults
• Schedule: 3 night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 13, 2026
• Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Additional Information: Navy scrub top and bottom required; applicants residing within 50 miles are not eligible

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or a valid Compact RN license in hand at submission
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with electronic charting; familiarity with any electronic medical record system is acceptable
• Demonstrated ability to provide adult patient care in an acute-care environment
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
• Travel nursing experience is not required
• Ability to complete required core compliance items and laboratory requirements within 48 hours of contract signing

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients throughout the night shift
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in clinical status
• Care for patients with stroke or TIA, urinary tract infections, sepsis, pneumonia, isolation needs, weakness, and unsteady gait
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards of care
• Manage peripheral lines and provide routine oxygen administration, including nasal cannula and oxygen tank use
• Apply isolation precautions and follow appropriate personal protective equipment procedures
• Recognize patient deterioration and appropriately activate rapid response or code teams
• Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to promote safe, quality outcomes
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
