Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
• Location: Quincy, Illinois
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Unit: 24-bed PCU with approximately a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity
• Charting: EPIC
• Weekend Coverage: May work up to every other weekend

Progressive Care Unit RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Illinois
• At least 1 year of recent progressive care, stepdown, or comparable acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
• Comfort caring for patients requiring continuous monitoring, high-flow oxygen, and intravenous medication infusions
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in scheduled weekend coverage

PCU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity progressive care and stepdown patients
• Monitor and manage patients with dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high-flow oxygen needs, and behavioral health considerations
• Safely administer and titrate ordered intravenous medications, including dopamine, norepinephrine, diltiazem, heparin, dexmedetomidine, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate clinical team
• Collaborate with providers, educators, and interdisciplinary team members to support safe, effective patient care
• Complete accurate documentation and care coordination in EPIC
• Support efficient patient throughput while maintaining high standards of safety, communication, and compassion
