Med/Surg Tele Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Columbus, Ohio | 13-Week Assignment

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940-$2,040
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Healthcare Setting: Adult Med/Surg Tele; surgical musculoskeletal and orthopedic-focused unit
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4-5
• Call: Not required
• Weekend Coverage: Weekdays and some weekends
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in Med/Surg Tele or a comparable acute-care setting
• Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of application
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Recent Epic experience required
• Demonstrated experience with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions, and intermediate-care practices
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to units with equivalent or lower acuity when needed

Med/Surg Tele Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult Med/Surg Tele patients with orthopedic infections, musculoskeletal conditions, orthopedic trauma, and post-surgical needs
• Monitor patients on telemetry and recognize, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and evaluate patient responses to treatment
• Manage peripheral IV access and provide ongoing line care
• Deliver wound care, including Veriflo and wound vacuum therapy as appropriate
• Apply isolation precautions and personal protective equipment according to clinical protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary partners, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, transportation, and rapid response teams
• Document patient care accurately in Epic
• Participate in rapid response and code team processes when indicated
• Float within the organization to areas of comparable or lower acuity while maintaining high standards of patient care
