Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, and TNCC certifications
• Strong emergency assessment, prioritization, triage, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotate weekends
• Positive, adaptable, team-oriented approach to emergency patient care

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, timely nursing care to emergency department patients across a range of acuity levels
• Perform rapid assessments and triage, initiate interventions, and continuously monitor patient condition
• Care for patients requiring tPA, STEMI response, CPR, laceration repair support, and orthopedic treatment
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely while documenting care accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Recognize changes in patient status and escalate concerns promptly
• Support a positive emergency department culture through clear communication, professionalism, and teamwork
