Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Pasadena, Texas

Join a fast-paced emergency care team as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) in Pasadena, Texas. This 13-week travel nursing contract offers competitive weekly pay, a 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio, and the opportunity to provide emergency nursing care in a 22-bed freestanding emergency department near Houston.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840–$1,940

• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; approximately 3 shifts per week
• Weekend Rotation: As needed or every other weekend, based on preference and unit needs
• On-Call: None
• Unit: 22-bed freestanding emergency department
• Typical Patient Assignment: 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Documentation System: Meditech

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or freestanding emergency department nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Current TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
• Strong teamwork skills and a patient-experience-focused approach
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and support weekend coverage as needed
• ENPC and NRP certifications preferred
• Ability to float to another freestanding emergency department when needed

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform focused nursing assessments, triage, ongoing monitoring, and patient reassessments
• Start IVs, obtain blood samples, administer medications, and monitor patient responses
• Assist with moderate sedation, splinting, and other emergency department procedures
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support efficient patient flow
• Use cardiac monitoring, defibrillation equipment, ventilator support equipment, and other emergency care technology safely
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Meditech and follow department, regulatory, and patient-safety standards
• Deliver a positive patient experience through professionalism, communication, and teamwork
