Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,230
• Position Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

• Assignment End Date: January 18, 2027
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry
• Shift: Night shift
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Scheduling: The unit may accommodate blocked scheduling
• Call: None
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients, including stroke, heart failure, respiratory failure, neurologic conditions, and cardiac catheterization recovery
• Unit Capacity: Approximately 30 beds with support from patient care technicians, unit coordinators, charge nurses, and nursing leadership

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
• Recent acute care hospital experience preferred
• Current Registered Nurse license in the working state or a valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Successful completion of a dysrhythmia examination required
• Progressive care, stepdown, telemetry, or critical care nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment
• Local candidates are not eligible for this assignment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Progressive Care RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of patients' clinical and psychosocial needs.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications safely and monitor patients for therapeutic response and adverse effects.
• Care for patients receiving heparin, amiodarone, diltiazem, and furosemide infusions according to applicable protocols.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and hemodynamic assessment techniques, recognizing and responding to dysrhythmias and changes in condition.
• Provide care for patients requiring room air, non-rebreather masks, and BiPAP support.
• Manage patients with chest tubes, complex cardiac conditions, respiratory failure, stroke, and other multisystem health concerns.
• Recognize subtle changes in patient status and take timely, evidence-based action during rapidly changing or emergent situations.
• Coordinate care with providers, therapists, support staff, patients, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, recovery, and safety plans.
• Advocate for patient preferences, privacy, dignity, safety, and quality of life.
• Document assessments, interventions, responses, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold current standards of professional nursing practice.
