Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Fargo, North Dakota
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Availability: Holiday time-off requests are not approved for this assignment
• Unit: 32-bed cardiovascular ICU/intermediate care unit
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2, with floating assignments up to 1:3 in critical care and up to 1:4 in intermediate care
• Orientation: 32 hours during the first week, including hospital, unit, intermediate ICU, and ICU orientation
• Charting System: EPIC
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or a compact state
• At least 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in a hospital with more than 200 beds, preferably in a Level I trauma setting
• Demonstrated ability to independently care for critically ill patients
• Recent experience titrating vasopressors and other continuous medication infusions
• Experience with EPIC clinical documentation
• Charge nurse and/or preceptor experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled
• Willingness to float to other critical care, intermediate care, and medical-surgical units as needed

Cardiac Stepdown and ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for 1–3 critically ill patients based on acuity and unit needs
• Care for patients with complex cardiac, cardiovascular surgery, neurological, trauma, medical, and surgical conditions
• Safely manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable infusions
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate timely interventions
• Assist with bedside procedures including rapid sequence intubation, external ventricular drain placement, tracheostomy, and central or arterial line placement
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment such as IABP, Impella, EVD, IV pumps, feeding pumps, and bedside monitoring systems
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
• Float to designated critical care, intermediate care, and medical-surgical units while maintaining safe, evidence-based care
