Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Springfield, Illinois
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Contract Duration: Approximately 24 weeks, ending April 4, 2027
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
• Position Type: Travel nursing contract

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Illinois RN license in hand before the start of the assignment
• At least 1 year of recent ICU, Cardiac ICU, or critical care nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-acuity critical care environment
• Flexibility to float to Medical ICU assignments when needed

Cardiac ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac open-heart surgeries
• Monitor and manage patients with complex medical and surgical ICU needs
• Assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following critical care protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and fellow nurses to coordinate individualized patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Float to the Medical ICU as needed while maintaining a high standard of patient care
