Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770

- Patient Ratio: Approximately 6:1
- Unit Information: Medical-surgical units with approximately 34 and 38 beds
- Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
- Call: No call required
- Additional Scheduling Information: Up to four days or nights of requested time off during the 13-week assignment; blocked scheduling is not available
Travel RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Oklahoma
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of the start date
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to float between assigned medical-surgical areas as needed
- Commitment to safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients throughout the night shift
- Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, establish nursing priorities, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate care team members
- Coordinate patient care with providers, nursing staff, therapy services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Cerner electronic medical record
- Support a safe patient care environment by following infection prevention, fall prevention, and hospital safety protocols
- Float between medical-surgical units when required to support patient care needs
