ICU Travel Nurse – Registered Nurse Travel Contract in Roswell, New Mexico

Join a critical care team as an ICU Travel Registered Nurse on a 13-week nursing assignment in Roswell, New Mexico. This on-site travel nursing job offers the opportunity to care for critically ill patients in a 16-bed intensive care unit while expanding your clinical experience across ICU, stepdown, and medical-surgical settings. ICU Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Assignment Type: ICU Registered Nurse travel contract
• Location: Roswell, New Mexico
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 25, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Shift Time: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit: 16-bed ICU with stepdown and medical-surgical overflow
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2 in ICU and 1:3–4 for stepdown patients
• Documentation: Cerner EMR
• Additional Scheduling Requirements: Call, floating, and at least one winter holiday are required; call is rarely needed
• Scrub Color: Royal blue

ICU Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New Mexico
• At least 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Current TNCC certification
• Ability to float to stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed
• Willingness to work every other weekend, participate in call, and work at least one winter holiday
• Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate timely nursing interventions
• Manage care for ICU patients at approximately a 1:2 ratio and stepdown patients at approximately a 1:3–4 ratio
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established clinical standards
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Cerner
• Float to stepdown and medical-surgical units to support patient care needs
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and call coverage as scheduled
• Promote a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care environment
