Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Surgical Services in Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Position Overview

Join a 13-week Pennsylvania travel nursing assignment as an Operating Room Registered Nurse in Johnstown, supporting high-acuity surgical services and patients across the lifespan.

Make an impact in a technologically advanced regional healthcare setting with exposure to Level I trauma services and complex surgical care. As an OR RN, you will work with a collaborative perioperative team across a broad range of specialties, including orthopedic, gynecologic, obstetric, plastic, general, cardiovascular, neurologic, urologic, breast, and podiatric surgery.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370–$2,500
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 27, 2026
• End Date: January 2, 2027
• Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts with varied scheduling
• Shift Options: Potential schedules include 9 a.m.–5 p.m., 11 a.m.–7 p.m., 1 p.m.–9 p.m., 3 p.m.–11 p.m., and weekend daylight shifts
• Call Requirement: One to two call periods per week in 8-hour increments
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend or as needed
• Unit: Surgical Services / Operating Room
• Department Profile: 22-bed operating room serving patients across the lifespan
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC
• Orientation: Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs provided

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license or eligibility to practice as an RN in Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience, preferably in an Operating Room, OR, or Surgical Services setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current CPI/HWC certification, as required for the assignment
• Ability to work varied day shifts, accept call assignments, and support weekend coverage
• Willingness to float or assist in other appropriate areas as needed
• Completion of all required Pennsylvania screenings, clearances, and fingerprinting before starting
• Preferred: Charge nurse experience, Level I trauma experience, and robotic surgery experience

Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the multidisciplinary care team
• Support surgical procedures across a diverse range of specialties and patient populations
• Promote patient safety through accurate assessments, surgical site verification, infection prevention, and adherence to procedural standards
• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for scheduled and emergent procedures
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes throughout the perioperative experience
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in EPIC
• Participate in call coverage and provide responsive support for urgent surgical needs
• Assist with departmental workflow, teamwork, and quality improvement initiatives
