Travel Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, including two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts

• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or as needed
• Call: Rotating call, primarily weekends; occasional weekday overnight call may be required
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:1
• Charting System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs provided
• Travel Eligibility: Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the assignment location to be considered for the travel rate

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience; 2 or more years preferred
• Orthopedic surgical experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, HWC, and NIH certifications required before the start date
• Experience caring for patients across the lifespan, including adult and pediatric populations
• Ability to float within the scope of practice when needed
• Strong communication, organization, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete required screening and compliance documentation before assignment start

OR Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures
• Prepare patients, equipment, supplies, and the operating room for scheduled procedures
• Perform circulating and other perioperative nursing duties within demonstrated competencies
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader care team
• Monitor patient status, anticipate clinical needs, and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Meditech electronic health record
• Support orthopedic and other surgical cases involving patients of all ages
• Participate in rotating weekend and call coverage
• Promote a professional, calm, and patient-centered environment throughout the surgical experience
