Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Idaho
• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience
• Experience providing perioperative nursing care in a hospital surgical setting
• Current clinical knowledge of surgical safety, sterile technique, and infection prevention practices
• Ability to complete required clinical competency evaluations and onboarding requirements
• Strong communication, organization, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative process
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, and patients for scheduled procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative care team
• Maintain sterile technique and follow surgical safety, infection prevention, and hospital nursing standards
• Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changing clinical needs before, during, and after surgery
• Document patient assessments, nursing interventions, medications, and outcomes accurately
• Support efficient operating room turnover and promote a safe, organized surgical environment
