Travel Nurse Job Details

• Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown / Med-Surg Telemetry
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 23, 2026
• End Date: January 22, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Times: Days, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Scheduling: Rotating day and night shifts; schedule may vary based on operational needs
• Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work at least every other holiday
• Floating: Potential to float to comparable units and the emergency department to care for the same patient population

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, med-surg telemetry, or a closely related specialty
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Strong cardiac telemetry monitoring and ECG rhythm recognition skills
• Medication safety competency and the ability to successfully complete required orientation assessments
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Required nursing licenses and certifications must be active and available at the time of submission
• Must meet applicable background screening and occupational health requirements
• Required influenza and COVID-19 vaccination, subject to approved medical or religious exemptions

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac, cardiovascular surgical, and telemetry patients in a stepdown setting
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and evaluate responses to treatment
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Support postoperative recovery and management of patients requiring a higher level of monitoring than a general medical-surgical unit
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and promote safe transitions of care
• Adapt to rotating shifts and provide care in comparable units when floating is required
• Complete required ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
