Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Bozeman, Montana
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Assignment Dates: September 28, 2026–December 28, 2026
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts, with possible weekends and holidays
• Work Setting: On-site Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Scheduling Note: Up to three shifts may be canceled during the 13-week assignment due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of experience in NICU, Labor and Delivery, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care nursing
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider certification
• STABLE certification
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including possible weekends and holidays
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, stressful healthcare environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Must reside at least 90 miles from the assignment location to be eligible
• Willingness to complete required stroke education, including initial and annual cerebrovascular disease training

NICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess the health needs and clinical status of neonatal patients and their families
• Analyze assessment findings to identify diagnoses, concerns, and appropriate nursing interventions
• Develop individualized plans of care and implement evidence-based neonatal nursing interventions
• Monitor patient responses and evaluate outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed
• Provide patient and family education in a collaborative, compassionate, and supportive manner
• Promote patient safety, wellness, and a healing care environment
• Follow applicable nursing standards, policies, protocols, guidelines, statutes, and regulations
• Collaborate with patients, families, providers, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Apply current research and professional standards to NICU clinical practice
• Support the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the ongoing advancement of nursing practice
• Provide care consistent with stroke-related policies and competency requirements when applicable
