Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Contract

Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730–$1,820
• Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing (Med/Surg)
• Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital medical-surgical units
• Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 18, 2027
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Schedule: 3- or 4-night schedule as assigned; 84 scheduled hours every two weeks with a 72-hour guarantee
• Orientation: 16 hours, including required learning modules
• Float Requirement: Will float between medical-surgical units

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before the start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIHSS certification and Nursys verification required with submission
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience strongly preferred
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Ability to float between medical-surgical units based on departmental needs
• Flu vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions may be considered
• Requested time off must be submitted with the application or before accepting an offer

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support quality patient outcomes
• Float between medical-surgical units while maintaining safe, adaptable, and compassionate care
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
