Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• TNCC certification
• PALS certification
• CEN certification preferred
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency setting

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with urgent, emergent, and non-critical medical conditions
• Assess, triage, monitor, and intervene according to patient acuity and changing clinical needs
• Care for adult and pediatric patients, including those experiencing critical cardiac and trauma conditions
• Support patients requiring emergent and urgent mental health care
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate clinical team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, emergency medical personnel, and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families while promoting safety, dignity, and continuity of care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and ongoing care plans
