Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Assignment Dates: October 19, 2026 – January 18, 2027
• Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital medical/surgical units
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730–$1,820
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Schedule: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; typically 3 night shifts per week, with scheduling that may include 4 night shifts based on department needs
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week; 84 hours scheduled biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee
• Float Requirement: Float between medical/surgical units
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Orientation: 16 hours

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before the start date
• At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS and Nursys documentation required with submission
• Epic electronic medical record charting experience strongly preferred
• Ability and willingness to float between medical/surgical units
• Availability to provide requested time off at the time of submission or before accepting an offer
• Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in medical/surgical settings
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Monitor vital signs, clinical responses, and diagnostic information
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record, preferably Epic
• Adapt efficiently when floating between medical/surgical units while maintaining consistent standards of care
• Support a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment throughout the travel assignment
