Emergency Department RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
• Location: Harrison Township, New Jersey
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department; on-site
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13-week contract
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: No holidays required
• Time-Off Requests: Up to 3 days of requested time off may be accepted

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience
• Recent Epic experience required; include the year Epic was most recently used with your application
• BSN required
• At least one completed contract nursing assignment required
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department preferred
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license or compact RN license
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• All required certifications must be current at the time of submission and must not expire within 30 days of submission
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Perform focused patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and prioritize care according to acuity
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support timely evaluation and treatment
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions in accordance with established protocols
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Respond effectively to urgent and emergent situations in a high-volume emergency care environment
• Complete required orientation activities, including Epic onboarding and unit-based orientation
• Maintain compliance with department policies, safety standards, and professional nursing practice requirements
