Join a high-acuity ICU resource team as a travel ICU RN in Fargo, North Dakota. Provide expert critical care to diverse patient populations in a collaborative acute-care environment while managing complex cases, titrating multiple drips, and adapting to changing needs across critical-care departments. This 13-week North Dakota travel nursing assignment is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse who is confident caring for critically ill patients. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Location: Fargo, North Dakota
• Assignment Type: 13-week ICU travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; straight nights may be available
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; no call required
• Patient Assignment: Typically 1–3 critically ill patients; ratios may reach 4:1 in intermediate ICU settings
• Orientation: 32 hours during the first week, including hospital, unit, intermediate ICU, and ICU orientation
• Charting System: Epic
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

ICU RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or a compact state
• At least 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a large hospital or Level I/II trauma setting with more than 250 beds
• Demonstrated experience independently caring for critically ill patients in an intensive care unit
• Required experience titrating vasopressors; this experience must be reflected on the resume or skills checklist
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Flexibility to float among critical-care units and, when needed, medical-surgical assignments
• Ability to check in daily before each shift to confirm the assigned critical-care unit or location
• Availability for rotating weekends and holidays

Critical Care Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill neurologic, cardiac, cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients
• Manage patient assignments of up to three critically ill patients while maintaining safety, accuracy, and timely intervention
• Titrate and monitor vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, and other continuous infusions
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly initiate appropriate critical-care interventions
• Assist with bedside procedures such as rapid-sequence intubation, external ventricular drain placement, tracheostomy, vascular line placement, and diagnostic testing
• Float throughout critical-care departments and support medical-surgical units as needed
• Utilize Epic, Omnicell, IV and feeding pumps, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, EVD, Impella, and other critical-care equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, medication administration, and patient responses
• Follow all badge-in, badge-out, safety, infection-control, and professional practice requirements
