Travel Nursing Job Details

ICU Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact state
• At least 1 year of experience in an ICU or related critical care nursing specialty preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to provide safe, independent nursing care in a high-acuity critical care setting

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity ICU patients, including patients who are intubated, sedated, or receiving chest tube management.
• Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols while monitoring for therapeutic effectiveness and adverse reactions.
• Perform ongoing nursing assessments and continuous monitoring of critically ill patients.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
• Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Delegate appropriately and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to manage changing clinical conditions.
