Long-Term Care RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,230
• Healthcare Setting: Long-term care and skilled nursing
• Schedule: Part-time evenings; 2 or 3 eight-hour shifts per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays as needed
• Shift Duration: 8-hour evening shifts

Registered Nurse Supervisor Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
• Previous RN supervisor or clinical leadership experience overseeing multiple nursing units
• Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or RQI
• Ability to obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire
• Working knowledge of New York State Department of Health requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department leaders, ancillary services, residents, and families
• Computer literacy and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced long-term care environment

RN Supervisor Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of nursing units during assigned evening shifts.
• Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to nursing staff across multiple units.
• Promote safe, high-quality resident care through staff teaching, coaching, and role modeling.
• Communicate identified or potential unit concerns to nursing leadership and collaborate on appropriate solutions.
• Make sound administrative and clinical decisions within the scope of responsibility when senior leadership is unavailable.
• Support effective teamwork and maintain a professional, respectful, and resident-centered care environment.
• Demonstrate composure and sound judgment when managing stressful situations, competing priorities, and time-sensitive issues.
• Maintain compliance with established policies, procedures, regulatory expectations, and safety standards.
• Promote resident dignity, respect, well-being, and positive relationships through compassionate nursing leadership.
