Travel ER RN opportunity in Everett, WA: Join a high-acuity Emergency Department team on a 13-week travel nursing contract and care for diverse adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced trauma and emergency setting. This Washington nursing assignment includes patients ranging from low acuity to critically ill, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, behavioral health, and acute-care boarding cases.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Shift: 12 Hour Nights; primarily 2:30 p.m.-3:00 a.m.; alternate 12-hour evening/night schedules may be assigned
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Holiday Availability: Flexibility to work 3 of 5 designated holidays may be required
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Department Volume: Approximately 220 visits per day across 79 rooms
• Charting: Epic electronic medical record
• Floating: May be required to support nearby affiliated locations

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers may be considered if they meet the experience requirements
• Active Washington RN license or compact license in hand at the time of submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• ENPC or PALS pediatric emergency credential, as applicable
• Recent Epic experience is required
• Experience caring for adult and pediatric patients in a Level II trauma environment; Level II trauma experience preferred
• Proficiency with emergency assessment, triage, trauma care, stroke and STEMI response, and management of critically ill patients
• Comfort caring for patients across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Ability to provide two professional references covering at least one year of experience from the past three years
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible for this assignment

Emergency Room RN Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and prioritization of patients with varying levels of acuity
• Deliver evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients experiencing stroke, STEMI, trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, behavioral health crises, and other emergent conditions
• Care for patients in a Level II adult trauma and Level III pediatric trauma environment
• Monitor and care for ventilated and critically ill patients, including management of BiPAP/CPAP, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, arterial lines, and central lines
• Administer blood products, medications, procedural sedation, and other emergency treatments according to established protocols
• Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Initiate and maintain IV access, perform phlebotomy, apply isolation precautions, and support rapid stabilization
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, IV teams, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Provide compassionate care and de-escalation support for patients experiencing behavioral health emergencies
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively during handoffs and transitions of care
• Remain flexible with weekend scheduling, holiday coverage, and floating expectations while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
