- Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Schedule: Day shifts are listed as 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; scheduling may include a four-shift pattern and will be confirmed before the assignment begins
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4–6, depending on acuity and unit assignment
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Documentation System: Epic
- Float Expectations: Assignment to various units and nearby sister facilities may be required based on organizational needs
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
- At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in a medical-surgical telemetry setting
- Prior charge nurse experience is required
- Recent U.S.-based clinical experience is required; Canadian experience alone does not meet the requirement
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions, and oxygen therapy
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience
- Ability to adapt quickly, float between units, and care for patients with varying diagnoses and acuity levels
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in medical-surgical, telemetry, and emergency department overflow settings
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, administer treatments, and evaluate outcomes
- Continuously monitor telemetry, recognize dysrhythmias, and promptly escalate changes in patient condition
- Adjust care delivery to maintain safe and effective care for assignments generally ranging from 1:4 to 1:6
- Float across units to support staffing needs and provide care in a variety of inpatient environments
- Perform charge responsibilities when assigned, including staffing coordination, bed flow management, and general unit oversight
- Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic while maintaining patient safety, infection prevention, and professional nursing standards
