This on-site Registered Nurse (RN) position is ideal for an experienced OB/GYN nurse who is confident caring for patients across labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, Level I nursery, and OB/GYN settings. You will play an important role in supporting patients and families through significant moments while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Women's Health RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in women's health, including Level I nursery, postpartum, OB/GYN, labor and delivery, or LDRP care
• Experience caring for OB/GYN surgical patients, including post-operative hysterectomy patients, as well as antepartum and triage patients
• Active Alabama RN license or valid multistate RN license
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications; certifications should be from the American Heart Association where applicable
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, care coordination, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and provide compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment

Women's Health Nursing Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications, collect specimens, perform clinical treatments, and provide other skilled nursing interventions
• Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary care team, physicians, patients, and families
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Provide nursing care for laboring, postpartum, antepartum, triage, OB/GYN, and post-operative patients
• Circulate during Cesarean sections and assist physicians during deliveries as needed
• Attend the neonatal station following delivery and complete thorough neonatal assessments
• Support the recovery and ongoing care of surgical patients according to established policies and procedures
• Educate patients and families in a manner that reflects their age, culture, condition, and individual learning needs
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support
• Maintain required fetal monitoring, labor and delivery, and neonatal care competencies
