Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,590–$1,680
• Location: Hickory, North Carolina
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care telemetry unit
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• End Date: January 25, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1
• Position Type: On-site, one opening

Acute Care Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care or telemetry nursing experience
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience caring for cardiac patients from young adult through geriatric populations
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records (EHR)
• Proficiency with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills

Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients on an acute care telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Care for patients with chest pain, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and other cardiac diagnoses
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterizations, including groin and radial access sites
• Support the care of patients receiving VATS procedures and other surgical interventions
• Administer medications, complete comprehensive nursing assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and coordinate individualized care plans
• Use LifePak, Zoll, Masimo, and other unit equipment according to established clinical standards
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes
• Remain flexible to occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, or surgical units as needed
