Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Idaho
• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, surgical workflows, and operating room procedures
• Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative care team
• Completion of required competency validation, skills assessment, and onboarding requirements
• Strong commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, sterile technique, and professional nursing standards

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and instruments for scheduled procedures
• Serve in circulating and/or scrub nurse capacities according to department needs and demonstrated competency
• Verify patient identity, procedure, consent, site verification, and required surgical safety processes
• Monitor patient condition and promptly communicate changes to the surgical and anesthesia teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support efficient operating room turnover
• Follow infection prevention, sterile technique, medication safety, and regulatory standards
• Support a respectful, compassionate experience for patients and their families throughout the perioperative process
