Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160–$2,270
- Location: Marquette, Michigan
- Healthcare Setting: Adult observation unit within a specialty care hospital
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Registered Nurse Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Scheduling: Weekend and holiday work required; block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Patient Population: Adult patients, age 18 and older
- Patient Assignment: Approximately 1:5, with no defined ratios
- Charting System: Cerner electronic health record
- Float Requirement: May float to medical, cardiac, and neuro-orthopedic units
- Call: No mandated call requirements
- Dress Code: Galaxy blue scrubs
Med/Surg RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Michigan
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg or adult observation nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale competency
- Telemetric monitoring and ECG competency
- Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays
- BSN preferred
- TNCC and ENPC certifications are welcome but optional
Med/Surg Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult observation patients in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Monitor patients using cardiac telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythm or clinical condition
- Assess, document, and communicate patient status, response to treatment, and changes in condition
- Care for patients with conditions such as chest pain, asthma exacerbation, TIA, abdominal pain, urinary concerns, blood glucose issues, DVT/PE, cellulitis, minor trauma, and post-procedural monitoring needs
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards of care
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning
- Use the Cerner electronic health record to maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation
- Float to designated medical, cardiac, or neuro-orthopedic units as needed
- Maintain professional conduct, dependable attendance, and compliance with unit policies throughout the assignment
