Travel Nursing Job Details

Medical-Surgical Travel RN Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in an adult acute care or hospital setting
• Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or an active multistate license, with required verification
• Completion of approved 6-hour suicide prevention training
• Demographic verification through Nursys
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills
• Ability and willingness to float to other departments as part of the rotation
• Meditech experience is helpful but not required

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients during overnight shifts
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for changes in patient status
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to support quality patient outcomes
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Respond appropriately to clinical changes and prioritize care in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Float to other departments in rotation while maintaining safe, patient-centered care
