Join a dedicated Labor & Delivery nursing team in Mooresville, NC, and earn an estimated $2,470–$2,600 per week on a 13-week travel nursing assignment. Provide compassionate obstetric care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum transitions during 12-hour night shifts in a community-based setting serving routine and high-risk patients. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
- Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
- Healthcare Setting: On-site Labor & Delivery unit with a Level I nursery supporting infants greater than 35 weeks
- Start Date: October 19 or November 2, 2026
- Assignment End Date: January 18, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend and holiday rotation
- Call Requirement: Low-census call
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 2 patients per nurse
- Floating: May float to Postpartum as needed
- Orientation: 24 hours with biweekly orientation scheduling
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible
- Active North Carolina RN license or compact RN license in hand
- Current BLS certification
- Current AWHONN Intermediate certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Recent supervisory reference required
- Demonstrated experience with electronic charting; Centricity experience preferred
- Current flu vaccination required; exemptions and declinations are not accepted
- Ability to meet assignment compliance, orientation, attendance, and documentation requirements
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, individualized obstetric nursing care to patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods
- Perform obstetric triage, fetal monitoring, sterile vaginal examinations, and comprehensive maternal assessments
- Support vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, scheduled inductions, cervical ripening, and cesarean sections
- Circulate for and recover cesarean sections; assist with procedures as clinically appropriate
- Manage patients receiving magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, insulin, anticoagulation, antihypertensive, and other obstetric therapies
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders, and other obstetric emergencies
- Provide newborn assessments, neonatal resuscitation, thermoregulation, glucose monitoring, cord care, and identification procedures
- Educate parents on discharge care, breastfeeding equipment, newborn care, and related postpartum needs
- Administer medications, initiate and maintain IV therapy, manage epidural anesthesia, and document care accurately
- Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, and other members of the care team
