Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU, Pre-Op & Post-Op Care

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,870–$1,970
• Location: Dublin, Georgia
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: September 21, 2026
• End Date: December 21, 2026
• Schedule: 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with on-call responsibilities
• Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Scheduling: Weekend and holiday rotation may be required in accordance with department policy
• Care Setting: 14-bed Same Day Surgery unit
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2–3 in post-operative care and 1:1–2 in pre-operative care, based on acuity
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Equipment: Bladder scanner, vein finder, and EKG machine
• Uniform: Ceil blue scrub top and bottom

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent pre-operative and post-operative nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in PACU, Same Day Surgery, or a comparable surgical services setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to complete pediatric and neurological post-operative competency training as required
• Strong patient communication skills and commitment to AIDET service standards
• Ability to participate in on-call, weekend, and holiday rotation requirements

PACU and Surgical Services RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures
• Complete pre-operative assessments, medication reconciliation, and patient preparation
• Monitor post-operative patients, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Perform IV starts, administer basic IV infusions, insert urinary catheters, and obtain EKGs
• Support pediatric and neurological post-operative care according to competency and department guidelines
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with surgical services staff and float within Surgical Services as needed
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented environment while delivering excellent patient experiences
