Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Easton, Maryland
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000–$2,110
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating evening and night shifts; primary need is nights
• Schedule Options: 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts, based on department scheduling needs
• Shift Times: 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m.–3:30 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays as scheduled
• On-Call: No prescheduled on-call shifts required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Emergency Department: Approximately 90 visits per day; 36 beds and 32 rooms
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:4, with the possibility of up to 1:5 for lower-acuity assignments

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Experience with patient assignments of approximately 1:4 required
• Epic electronic health record charting experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Current NIHSS certification
• Current CPI certification; approved online CPI training may be completed during onboarding when applicable
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• Comfort caring for patients of all ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Flu vaccination is required
• Ability to float within the Emergency Department specialty to other regional emergency department locations as needed
• Must be prepared to complete required onboarding labs within 72 hours of signing and submit compliance documentation five days before the start date

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate emergency nursing care in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, prioritization, reassessment, and ongoing monitoring for patients with varied and complex diagnoses
• Care for patients presenting with medical, surgical, respiratory, neurological, behavioral health, traumatic, and multisystem conditions
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, vasopressors, sedation, and other treatments within scope of practice
• Manage patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, continuous sedation, or other advanced interventions
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, stroke symptoms, STEMI presentations, seizures, overdose, suicide risk, acute psychosis, and other emergent conditions
• Perform or assist with IV insertion, phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG acquisition, splint application, chest tube management, central line care, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with providers, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Support a safe environment through infection prevention, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and appropriate management of violent or behavioral situations
• Demonstrate leadership through charge responsibilities, effective delegation, and collaboration with emergency services and support departments
• Float within the Emergency Department specialty and adapt to changing patient-care needs and assignments
