Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000–$2,110
• Location: Easton, Maryland

• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour schedules accepted
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift: Primarily nights, with rotating evening shifts as department needs require; night hours are approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. and evening hours are approximately 3:00 p.m.–3:30 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays as scheduled
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Department Volume: Approximately 90 visits per day; 36-bed department with 32 rooms
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4, with up to 1:5 for lower-acuity assignments
• Floating: Required within the Emergency Department specialty and to affiliated emergency department locations as needed
• Call: No prescheduled on-call shifts required
• Orientation: 24 hours

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Experience caring for approximately 1:4 patient ratios
• Epic electronic health record and charting experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• Strong emergency nursing assessment, prioritization, triage, and response skills
• Ability to float within scope and work rotating evening and night assignments
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatric adults
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring for patients with a wide range of acute and complex conditions
• Manage patients requiring emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, ventilatory support, chest tube care, central line care, and blood product administration
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, stroke symptoms, STEMI presentations, seizures, drug overdose, behavioral health crises, respiratory emergencies, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Initiate and maintain IV access, obtain 12-lead ECGs, interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, and support emergency interventions including intubation
• Provide safe care for psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, patients with violent behavior, and individuals requiring isolation precautions
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary services, including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, physical therapy, and interpretation services
• Document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, appropriate escalation of care, and compassionate communication with patients and families
