Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Baltimore, MD

Join our healthcare team as a Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse on a 13-week night-shift travel nursing contract in Baltimore, Maryland. Provide acute-care nursing for ED boarder patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and float to Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed. Baltimore offers waterfront scenery, historic neighborhoods, cultural attractions, and convenient access to the greater Mid-Atlantic region.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710–$1,800
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 27, 2026
• Location: Baltimore, Maryland
• Healthcare Setting: ED Boarder / Med-Surg Telemetry
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call: None
• Weekends and Holidays: Not required
• Float: Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
• Orientation: 28 hours

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maryland, including a Maryland license or compact license
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg, Telemetry, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
• Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred and required where applicable
• Successful completion of an EKG rhythm interpretation assessment with a minimum overall score of 80% and a perfect score on lethal rhythms
• Recent experience caring for ED boarder patients, holding patients, or patients in an ASU area preferred
• Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing experience required; Cerner charting experience preferred
• Ability to complete required pre-assignment screening, compliance activities, and unit-specific learning modules within designated timeframes
• Current influenza vaccination required

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients boarding in the emergency department or ASU area
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate clinical concerns
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, provide treatments, and evaluate patient responses
• Coordinate care with providers and interdisciplinary support services
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, comfort, education, and continuity of care during transitions
• Float to Med/Surg and Telemetry units when needed while maintaining safe, evidence-based nursing practice
