Travel Nursing Job Details

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts

LTAC Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Alabama
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate bedside clinical nursing experience
- Previous LTAC, stepdown, or intensive care unit (ICU) nursing experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
- Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients with complex medical needs
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within the required timeframe and develop individualized plans of care.
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor patient condition, recognize changes in status, and promptly communicate pertinent information to appropriate care team members.
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care updates accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation and recovery goals.
- Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, safety, and discharge needs.
- Initiate discharge planning from admission and support continuity of care throughout the patient stay.
- Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to LPNs, CNAs, and orienting staff.
- Promote patient and workplace safety by following infection prevention, safe patient handling, fall prevention, and facility policies.
- Prioritize care effectively, maintain a safe environment, and collaborate with nursing leadership to support quality patient outcomes.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities after completing orientation when requested.
