- Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

- Work Setting: On-site, acute-care hospital environment
Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of recent acute-care nursing experience
- Prior cardiovascular critical care experience required
- Post-operative, operating room, or vascular nursing background required
- Progressive Care Unit, cardiac stepdown, or comparable high-acuity nursing experience strongly preferred
- Ability to assess and care for medically complex cardiac and post-operative patients in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown and Progressive Care Unit patients
- Monitor cardiac status, vital signs, neurological condition, and other indicators of clinical change
- Care for patients recovering from cardiovascular, post-operative, and vascular procedures
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the interdisciplinary care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to established protocols
- Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, rehabilitation services, and other clinical professionals
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support a safe, compassionate patient-care environment
