Emergency Room Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in an emergency department setting
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina or a compact state, as applicable
• Ability to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
• Availability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet the travel nursing assignment schedule

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and monitor patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and acuity
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate timely care
• Perform comprehensive documentation and maintain accurate patient records
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Support a safe, respectful, and patient-centered emergency department environment
