Travel RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 25, 2026
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Weekends required; no on-call shifts
- Unit Environment: 34 private couplet rooms with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 couplets
- Documentation: Cerner electronic medical record
- Floating: May assist Labor & Delivery and NICU teams as needed
Mother/Baby Registered Nurse Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of recent Mother/Baby or postpartum nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Ability to care for postpartum patients and newborns in a couplet-care environment
- Strong communication, patient education, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience caring for patients receiving magnesium sulfate after delivery preferred
- STABLE certification preferred
Postpartum Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns throughout the recovery and transition-to-home process
- Assess maternal and newborn status, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support couplet care while promoting bonding, feeding, safe sleep, and family participation
- Administer medications and therapies safely, including care for patients receiving magnesium sulfate when indicated
- Educate families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, discharge instructions, and warning signs requiring follow-up
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized care
- Assist with newborn procedures, including circumcision care and related patient and family education
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Provide support to Labor & Delivery and NICU teams when assigned
- Contribute to a positive, teaching-focused team culture
