Seeking an experienced Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week surgical services contract in Cincinnati, Ohio. Join a high-performing perioperative nursing team supporting diverse procedures and delivering safe, efficient, compassionate patient care.
Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010

- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour day shifts per week
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 18, 2027
- Call Requirements: Night call from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. approximately 1–2 nights per week; weekend call coverage of 48 hours approximately every 4–5 weeks; additional Saturday call from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. approximately every 4–5 weeks; holiday call may include a 24-hour Christmas assignment
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Case Mix: Vascular, general, gynecologic, ENT, robotic-assisted, and orthopedic procedures, including primarily hip and knee replacements and some shoulder procedures
- Position Notes: Previous travel nursing experience is required. Local candidates are not accepted. A dysrhythmia examination is required.

Operating Room RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the working state or a valid compact RN license
- At least 4 years of professional nursing experience, including relevant operating room or surgical services experience
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH certifications
- Successful completion of the required dysrhythmia examination
- Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, infection prevention, and surgical safety practices
- Ability to provide safe, age-appropriate care across the lifespan
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, organization, and adaptability
- Ability to safely lift, reposition, transport, and assist with the care of surgical patients
- CNOR certification, BSN, gastroenterology nursing experience, and completion of an operating room internship are preferred
Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care using the nursing process.
- Complete initial and ongoing assessments, identify patient needs, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes.
- Coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Promote a safe and comfortable operating room environment for patients and the surgical team.
- Monitor adherence to aseptic technique, sterile field practices, infection-control standards, and surgical safety procedures.
- Prepare the operating room, anticipate equipment and supply needs, open sterile packs, and assist with gowning and draping.
- Assist with patient positioning, transport, anesthesia induction and emergence, and safe transitions throughout the perioperative experience.
- Perform or assist with procedures such as IV insertion, urinary catheterization, surgical preparation, and other nursing interventions within scope of practice.
- Operate surgical equipment as appropriate and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with applicable laws, professional standards, and organizational policies.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, emotional support, and compassionate, relationship-based care.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient-safety initiatives, staff education, and ongoing professional development.
