Travel PACU RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200–$2,320
- Location: Fargo, North Dakota
- Employment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- Assignment End Date: February 8, 2027
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts with start times between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
- Schedule: Three or four shifts per week; 36- or 48-hour options available, with 48 hours guaranteed per week
- Call Requirements: Approximately 3–5 weeknight call shifts during a six-week period and 1–2 weekends of call during the same period
- Unit: 16-bay Phase I PACU with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1
- Documentation and Equipment: Epic, AcuDose medication dispensing, and Philips monitoring systems
- Additional Assignment Details: May float to the Day Unit to care for Phase II patients after training; ceil-blue scrubs are provided
- Travel Eligibility: Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible; candidates residing 60–80 miles away may be considered under local-traveler guidelines
PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active North Dakota or Compact Registered Nurse license
- At least 2 years of recent PACU or post-anesthesia nursing experience
- Experience caring for pediatric patients
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Recent Epic charting experience
- Critical care or intermediate-care experience preferred
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and provide efficient nursing care in a fast-paced acute-care environment
Travel PACU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, timely post-anesthesia nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Care for patients recovering from surgical and procedural services, including ICU, MRI, oncology, and interventional radiology cases
- Perform ongoing nursing assessments and closely monitor airway status, vital signs, pain, sedation, and recovery progress
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly using appropriate clinical interventions
- Prepare patients for safe transfer from Phase I recovery and provide Phase II recovery care in the Day Unit as assigned
- Administer medications and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, physicians, and the broader perioperative care team
- Participate in scheduled call coverage and maintain readiness to support urgent post-procedure needs
